2026 Alien Invasion

The Alien Invasion event occurred June to July (so far), 2026. Initial changes to the game map started on July 17 with the crash landing of nine objects, one in each existing suburb (including Fogridge).
The dark smoke soon spread from the craters to nearby areas, with a chance of inflicting damage and the Asphyxiated condition if entered. Enemy bosses finally arose from those craters and began attacking on July 24. Lower-level enemies streamed out of the craters on August 1.
Announcements
For a few weeks prior to the inception of the event, there were occasional game-wide messages teasing it. Announcements continued after the crash-landing as events unfolded.
- missing initial message?
- The strange purple light in the sky headed towards the city appears to be getting brighter
- The strange purple light in the sky gets ever brighter. If one looks closer they would see its multiple purple lights. A strange voice comes through all the communication systems in the city, eerily announcing the lights are "nothing to be alarmed about"
- The strange purple light in the sky gets ever brighter. The lights appear like they could hit the city at any moment. A strange voice comes through all the communication systems in the city, eerily announcing the lights are "Please Remain Calm and Stay Indoors."
- Suddenly purple light floods the sky as the what was previously just far off shooting stars are now clearly metal objects, which slam down into the earth in 9 different locations. A strange acrid smelling smoke can be seen from these locations.
- A strange voice comes over all the radios and the loudspeakers of Grime city and Fogridge. "Please Remain Calm and Indoors until they emerge.
- Dark acrid black smoke begins to permeate and get blasted from the impact sites into the city. It begins to fill up some open spaces, such as parking lots.
- The dark smoke leaking from the impact craters starts to seep now towards underground areas, starting with the "strange holes" slowly choking out any of the creatures that come out from there.
- The dark smoke leaking from the impact craters now begins to seep into the some of the smaller underground areas of grime city, such as the hell house basement, the zoo aquarium and the evil cabin cellar.
- The dark smoke now begins to move further in Fogridge, setting into the corn fields. It also begins to permeate above the sewer entrances as it slowly blows into the Sewers, seemingly attempting to fill them with smoke.
- The dark smoke now fills up the entire sewer system, making it an incredibly dangerous place.
- The dark smoke begins to flit out of the subway stations, though at a reduced rate from other places. It also settles in the underground mall, not fully filling it but making it hard to traverse.
- With a sudden screech 5 metallic monstrosities suddenly rise from the craters to hunt down the beings in the city. A voice pops into the city radios exclaiming. "You can run, you can even hide, but you shall never be safe.
- A sudden roar erupts from the craters as Martian Troopers begin to pour out of the craters beginning to support the tripods.
